Trustee Eva Lynn Gans

Eva Lynn Gans earned her AB in Chemistry at Barnard College and MS in Computer Science at SEAS, Columbia University. She taught in the Chemistry Department at Barnard College and consulted for the IBM Watson Labs in Yorktown Heights, NY, and for TEDA (Technology Evaluation and Development Associates) in Hoboken, NJ.

Eva has volunteered for many causes. She was the first woman Campaign Chairman for the Bergen County UJA Federation and served as Federation President from 1998-2000. Eva also was the first woman president of the Endowment Foundation of the Jewish Federation of Northern New Jersey.

On the national scene, Eva was a member of the Board of Trustees of the Jewish Federations of North America (JFNA) where she currently serves on the Financial Relations Committee. She also served as the President of her synagogue, the Jewish Center of Teaneck, the first woman to hold this position in the synagogue’s 75 year history.

Eva has received various awards including Gates of Jerusalem Award, Boys Town Jerusalem; Honoree – United Jewish Community Women’s Division Spring Luncheon; Woman of Vision Tribute – Northeastern NJ Region of Women’s American ORT; both the Woman of Valor Award and the Award of Honor – Bergen County Israel Bonds Women’s Division; Lion of Judah Award – Israel Bonds; the Kipnis-Wilson/Friedland Award from JFNA; and the Marge Bornstein Award for Outstanding Volunteerism from JF NNJ.
