Reptiles of the World is a photographic journey through over 100 different Turtles, Crocodilians, Beak-Heads, Amphisbaenians, and Lizards. Each species is represented by its common name, scientific name, one or more color photographs, and some explanatory text. The book contains 173 color photographs.

Originally written by Carl Gans and published by Bantam Books in the “Knowledge Through Color” series in 1975, the contents are now available online courtesy (in progress) of the Gans Collections and Charitable Fund.
